Why is Rosas Jr. - Barcelos a historic main event?

Because no fighter this young had ever headlined one. Rosas Jr. already holds the promotion's precocity records: signed at 17, he became its youngest winner on his debut in December 2022. He turns 22 on October 8.

He comes in at 6-1 in the UFC on a five-fight winning streak, with the reputation of a wrestler who keeps his opponents on the mat. Barcelos, 39, is seventeen years his senior, also on five straight wins, and brings a grappling pedigree inherited from his father, a wrestler on the Brazilian national team.

Who will win The Ultimate Fighter 34?

Both finals of the season, contested between Daniel Cormier's and Michael Bisping's teams, are on the main card.

At bantamweight, Mehemmedeli Osmanli (12-1) and Ilimbek Akylbek uulu (10-3), both from Team Bisping. At women's strawweight, two Team Cormier fighters: Melissa Amaya, unbeaten in eight fights, against Tina Black (15-4), a former Invicta FC champion.

What else is worth watching?

The main card also features Rodolfo Vieira - Robert Bryczek at middleweight, and Brady Hiestand - Rinya Nakamura at bantamweight, a fight first booked for UFC 298 in February 2024 before Hiestand pulled out.

The prelims include Norma Dumont - Ailin Perez, two top-10 women's bantamweights, and Montel Jackson - Ricky Simon, the two men Barcelos beat in his last two fights. Also on the prelims: Rodolfo Bellato - Christian Edwards at light heavyweight, Elves Brener - Josiah Harrell at lightweight, John Castaneda - Alatengheili at bantamweight, Mickey Gall - Sedriques Dumas at middleweight and Vanessa Demopoulos - Yazmin Jauregui at strawweight.
