Jena Bishop beats Liz Carmouche by unanimous decision (48-47, 48-47, 48-47) in the PFL Chicago main event, on Friday, October 16, 2026 at Wintrust Arena, to become the first women's flyweight champion in PFL history. On the same card, Frenchman Oualy Tandia wins his debut with the promotion, by unanimous decision over JP Saint Louis.
Who won between Liz Carmouche and Jena Bishop?
Jena Bishop, on the scorecards, after five rounds. Carmouche rocks her with a flurry in the first round, and Bishop nearly goes out just before the horn. She survives on her jiu-jitsu, then takes over on the mat: in the third round, she takes Carmouche down, takes her back and squeezes a rear-naked choke for a long stretch, without finishing it. Carmouche comes back fresher in the fourth; in the fifth, she gets wild on the feet, is taken down, and Bishop again chains rear-naked choke attempts from the back.
It is a rematch: Carmouche had stopped her in the third round in August 2025, in the flyweight tournament final. The American, a former Bellator champion, had to shave her head at the weigh-ins to make the 125-pound limit exactly.
Who does Jena Bishop face in her first defense?
Dakota Ditcheva, unbeaten in sixteen fights, eleven of them in the PFL. The Englishwoman, who said on Friday she has medical clearance to fight in early 2027, stepped into the cage after the decision to face off with the new champion. She had beaten Bishop by first-round knockout in August 2024.
How did Oualy Tandia do?
A unanimous decision win (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) over JP Saint Louis, in the main card opener. A wrestling and clinch fight, on the mat and against the cage, with little offense. Saint Louis missed weight by 2.8 pounds (172.8 for a 170 limit), so the bout goes ahead at a 173-pound catchweight.
The 24-year-old Frenchman, the Hexagone MMA welterweight champion, stays unbeaten: six professional fights, six wins.
What else happened on the card?
Timur Khizriev beats Gabriel Braga by split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) at featherweight. Back after a long recovery, the unbeaten fighter is badly hurt in the first two rounds and lands none of his takedown attempts; a disputed win, his second over Braga, whom he had already beaten by split decision in 2024.
Sarvarjon Khamidov knocks out Rafael do Nascimento in the first round (1:49) at bantamweight: a left hook drops the Brazilian, and the referee steps in on the ground strikes.
Emiliano Sordi beats Abraham Bably by second-round TKO (3:13) at light heavyweight. In trouble in the first round, the former PFL champion rocks Bably with a one-two and a left hook, and finishes the job.
