The Professional Fighters League stopped in Tampa, Florida, for an event whose headliner was originally booked as a title fight: Cris Cyborg defending her featherweight belt against Brazilian Ketlen Vieira at the Benchmark International Arena. The problem: Vieira missed weight badly (seven pounds over the limit), making her ineligible for the title and turning the bout into a 153-pound catchweight. In the co-main event, Russia's Gadzhi Rabadanov faced American Tracy Reeder at lightweight.
Who won the main event?
Cris Cyborg retains her title with a unanimous decision win (49-46, 48-47, 49-46) after a five-round fight in which the two women combined for over 300 strikes. Now riding a 10-fight winning streak and unbeaten for nearly eight years, the Brazilian legend (30-2) is also out of contract with the PFL, and used the microphone to call out boxer Claressa Shields before challenging Kayla Harrison, who was sitting cageside.
In the co-main event, Gadzhi Rabadanov made short work of Tracy Reeder, stopping him by KO/TKO in the first round after easily stuffing an obvious takedown attempt.
