Iga Swiatek has confirmed her hold on Roland-Garros once again. In the final, the world number one comfortably beat Jasmine Paolini (6-2, 6-1) to claim a fourth title in Paris and match Justine Henin's record. At 23, the Pole now has five Grand Slam titles, including the 2022 US Open.

True to form, Swiatek gave her opponent nothing in the final. In just 1hr 08min she overwhelmed Paolini, showing again why she is the best player on clay. It is her fourth Roland-Garros title in five years, after 2020, 2022 and 2023.
An impressive run
This year Swiatek became the first player since Barbora Krejcikova in 2021 to win Roland-Garros after saving a match point. The escape came in the second round against Naomi Osaka (7-6 (1), 1-6, 7-5). After that scare she was relentless, taking 64 of the last 81 games.
The numbers behind it
With a record of 22 titles from 26 finals, the last nine of them in a row, Swiatek is close to unbeatable once she reaches the last match. The final against Paolini was no exception. The Italian did edge ahead early, leading 2-1 with a break, but Swiatek took control almost immediately and reeled off ten straight games (6-2, 5-0). Paolini held once more, but Swiatek finished it with a service winner on her first match point.
Swiatek keeps making the case that she is the undisputed queen of clay. Her power, her stamina and her command of patterns of play make her a formidable opponent, capable of dominating with remarkable consistency. At Roland-Garros she proved once again that she is a class apart — and at just 23, she looks set to keep writing the history of women's tennis.
