The finals of both ATP 500 events in Asia are played on Tuesday 6 October 2026: Carlos Alcaraz meets Jiri Lehecka in Tokyo, and Novak Djokovic faces Alex de Minaur in Beijing.

Who is in the Tokyo final?

Carlos Alcaraz (top seed) is the defending champion: he won in Tokyo on his first appearance last year. In Monday 5 October's semi-final he beat fellow Spaniard Jaume Munar 5-7, 6-3, 6-1. He had already beaten Alex Michelsen (7-6(1), 4-6, 6-1) in the first round, then Denis Shapovalov in the quarter-finals, when the Canadian retired (7-6(3), 2-1).

Across the net, Czech Jiri Lehecka beat Monaco's Valentin Vacherot (No. 8 seed) 6-4, 6-2. He had knocked out Frenchman Ugo Humbert in the last 16 (5-7, 6-4, 6-4), then Adolfo Daniel Vallejo in the quarter-finals (6-1, 6-1).

Who is in the Beijing final?

Novak Djokovic (No. 6 seed) beat top seed Alexander Zverev in the quarter-finals, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4. In the semi-final he led Daniil Medvedev 7-5, 5-3 and was serving for the match when the Russian was defaulted: on a backhand, he sent a ball at full power into a box of spectators.

At 39, Djokovic becomes the oldest finalist at an ATP 500 event since the category was created in 2009, ahead of Roger Federer, who won in Basel at 38 in 2019. He is unbeaten in Beijing (33-0), plays his seventh final there and already has six titles.

Alex de Minaur (No. 5 seed) had a rougher route: he came back against Frenchman Quentin Halys in the last 16 (3-6, 7-6(5), 7-5), then beat Andrey Rublev in the quarter-finals (1-6, 6-2, 6-3). Hubert Hurkacz retired in the semi-final while trailing 6-4, 3-2. De Minaur is the second Australian man in a Beijing final, after Nick Kyrgios in 2017. Djokovic leads their head-to-head 3-1.

When are the finals played?

Both finals are played on Tuesday 6 October: Tokyo not before 11:00 French time (18:00 local), Beijing not before 13:00 French time (19:00 local).
