The European Football Championship, better known as the Euro, is held every four years.
It is a European competition organised by UEFA, bringing together the best national teams on the continent.
Where and when is Euro 2024?
The tournament takes place in Germany from 14 June to 14 July.
The opening match kicks off on 14 June at 21:00 at the Allianz Arena in Munich. Hosts Germany face Scotland, for the ninth time since 1929.
France's campaign
France open their tournament against Austria.
The match is on 17 June at 21:00 (French time) at the Merkur Spiel-Arena in Düsseldorf.
They then face the Netherlands and Poland in the rest of the group stage.
Which teams are at Euro 2024?
Twenty-four teams take part, split into six groups.
Group A: Germany - Scotland - Hungary - Switzerland
Group B: Spain - Croatia - Italy - Albania
Group C: Slovenia - Denmark - Serbia - England
Group D: Poland - Netherlands - Austria - France
Group E: Belgium - Slovakia - Romania - Ukraine
Group F: Turkey - Georgia - Portugal - Czechia
How to watch for free on TV
As things stand, French viewers will get 25 matches free to air: twelve on TF1 and thirteen on M6. Every France match will be shown free to air.

To attend a Euro 2024 match you need a ticket first. From there, car sharing or the train are both worth considering.

The youngest player to appear in Euro 2024 qualifying is Poland's Kacper Kozlowski, at 17 years and 246 days.
Germany, the host nation, is also the most successful team in the competition's history — 1972, 1980 and 1996 — level with Spain (1964, 2008, 2012).
